Essential terms to read before booking

Japanese Adult-Service Glossary

This glossary explains common Japanese terms in three groups: choosing a profile, prices and time, and booking or location. Understanding them makes it easier to confirm the exact conditions before making a decision.

The same term can have different meanings, fees or conditions between operators and regions. These are general definitions only; always confirm the operator’s wording and total price before finalising a booking.

Choosing a profile and nomination

Shimei(指名)
Nomination / request
The general act of requesting a particular companion. Whether a nomination fee applies depends on the operator.
Honshimei(本指名)
Repeat nomination
Usually means requesting a companion you have met before. A separate repeat-nomination fee may apply.
Shashin shimei(写真指名)
Photo nomination
Choosing a companion you have not met by reviewing the photos and information in an online profile.
Jonai shimei(場内指名)
In-house nomination
A term commonly used by storefront operators for choosing after arriving at the premises. It may not be used for dispatch-style services.
Free(フリー)
No nomination
A booking without requesting a specific companion, leaving the selection to the operator based on availability.

Prices and time

Course(コース)
Time plan
A plan combining a set duration with a base price. Confirm what is included and when the booked time begins and ends.
Shimeiryo(指名料)
Nomination fee
A fee that may be added to the base course price when a particular companion is requested.
Honshimeiryo(本指名料)
Repeat-nomination fee
A fee that may apply when requesting someone previously met. Its treatment versus a standard nomination fee varies by operator.
Encho(延長)
Extension
Adding time beyond the original course. It may be unavailable because of the companion’s schedule or reception status.
Encho ryokin(延長料金)
Extension fee
The additional amount charged for extra time. Confirm the time unit, price and deadline for requesting it.
Kotsuhi(交通費)
Travel / dispatch fee
A fee that may cover travel to the requested location. It can vary by district or distance and is not always included in the course price.

Booking and location

Shuccho area(出張エリア)
Service area
The districts to which a dispatch or appointment can be arranged. Travel fees and arrival times may vary even within Osaka.
Zaiseiki kakunin(在籍確認)
Availability check
Asking whether a particular companion can be arranged at the requested time. An availability check alone may not create a confirmed booking.
Yoyaku kakutei(予約確定)
Booking confirmation
The point at which the date, location, companion, course and fee conditions have been agreed and the operator sends confirmation.
Cancellation fee(キャンセル料)
Cancellation charge
A charge that may apply when a confirmed booking is cancelled or changed under specified conditions. Check the policy before confirmation.
Machiawase(待ち合わせ)
Meeting arrangement
An arrangement to meet at a named hotel or another clear location. Confirm the place, time and identification procedure in advance.

Confirm these five points in writing

  1. The companion and nomination type
  2. Course duration and start time
  3. Breakdown of course, nomination and travel fees
  4. Expected total including the hotel cost
  5. Rules for changes, extensions and cancellations

Frequently asked questions about these terms

What is the difference between a nomination fee and a repeat-nomination fee?

A nomination fee generally applies when choosing a specific companion; a repeat-nomination fee may apply when choosing someone previously met. Names and amounts vary by operator.

Is an extension always available on the day?

No. It depends on the companion’s next appointment and reception status, so ask as early as possible.

Why does the travel fee change by location?

It is often based on the distance or service area. Give the hotel name or district and confirm the amount before booking.

Does an availability check confirm the booking?

Usually not. Availability is one step; the booking is normally confirmed only after the time, place, profile and fee conditions are agreed and a confirmation reply is sent.

Ask about unfamiliar terms before confirming

Including the preferred time, district and profile name helps the operator answer availability and fee questions clearly.
